Ground Beef Recall

(24/7 News)  --  Officials with the Department of Health are saying several Central Ohio area grocery stores received ground beef products recalled due to a possible E. coli contamination.

A list released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture yesterday showed the tainted meat was sent to a Target distribution center in West Jefferson as well as Meijer and Sam's Club stores.

The meat was recalled on September 19th after reports of 17 illnesses and one death.  The affected products have a "freeze by date" of July 11th and were sold under the Excel, Our Certified, Sterling Silver, and Fire River brands.
