(SE Coach Jimmy Hutton congratulates Lauren Goebel on new SVC assist record)
There have been several area high school volleyball players obtain individual milestones this year, but Tuesday night saw Southeastern's Lauren Goebel top the previous SVC assist record of 2,570. Goebel led the first place Panthers to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-15 victory at Adena.
Goebel's third assist of the match eclipsed the old mark set by Unioto grad Madi Eberst.
The win keeps Southeastern one match ahead of Unioto, with three SVC contests to play, including a 94 Country WKKJ broadcast match at home against Huntington, this Thursday. The Huntsmen are coming off a five set win over Zane Trace on Tuesday, (19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-9).
Unioto swept Westfall 25-17, 25-19, 25-13, while Piketon rallied to defeat Paint Valley (25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 8-25, 15-8)
