The Department of Energy will be hosting community open houses to discuss the process to dispose of waste from the upcoming demolition of the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant near Piketon. This is intended to prepare the site for re-industrialization.
The open houses will be in each of the four counties most affected by the plant, and each open house will run from 2pm to 7pm.
Jackson's open house will be November 7th at La Rosa's Pizza in Jackson.
The Portsmouth one will be at the Scioto County Welcome Center November 8th.
Waverly's will be November 13th at the Pike County YMCA at 400 Pride Drive.
Chillicothe's open house is November 15th at the Riverview Conference Center at 30 North Plaza Boulevard.
