Pickaway County Man Charged After Three County Pursuit

A Pickaway County man is facing robbery and theft charges after leading a Good Samaritan and authorities on an off-and-on stolen vehicle pursuit through three counties, Monday.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff, Robert Radcliff, his office received a 911 call shortly before 11:30 a.m. from woman claiming her step-son, Clint Allen, 27, had just threatened her with a firearm, and stolen his father’s South Bloomfield Village-owned work truck.

A short while later, Pickaway County Dispatch then received a call from a Good Samaritan that had witnessed Allen crash the truck on Marcy Road, just across the Fairfield County line. Allen was reported to have then stolen a second truck from a home on Marcy Road, and took off with the Good Samaritan following and providing information to authorities. Unfortunately, he lost site of the truck in the area of Rock Mill Road in Fairfield County.

Fairfield County authorities then received a call from a motorist that a truck had attempted to run them off the road at Rock Mill and Lithopolis Roads.

A Fairfield County Sheriff’s Deputy soon spotted the truck at Pickerington Road and U.S. 33 between Columbus and Lancaster and gave chase. The pursuit was brought to a halt when Allen crashed the truck in the 2500-block of Parsons Avenue in Columbus.

Allen is alleged to have then broken a window out of the truck in an effort to exit the vehicle. He was quickly apprehended while attempting to kick in the door of a Parson’s Avenue residence.

Allen was taken into custody and transported back to Pickaway County where he faces charges of Robbery, Theft, and Endangering the Public.
