A one-car crash just east of Circleville, led to the driver being flown by medical helicopter to a Columbus area hospital, at about noon Monday. The crash occurred on State Route 188, which is also Northridge Road, directly in front of Red Barn Screen Printing.
Eyewitness accounts of the crash and evidence from the scene show the westbound car driven by 35-year-old Jason Raines of Circleville, went off the right side of the road and into the yard in front of Red Barn, where the vehicle landed upright facing eastbound. Another eyewitness told iHeart Media News that the driver claimed "he couldn't see" as a steady rain was falling, causing him to lose control.
At least four emergency squads, two fire engines and Pickaway County Sheriff deputies responded to the scene. Traffic was blocked in both directions for at least one hour.
Eyewitnesses later stated that a medical helicopter transferred the driver to the hospital.
