Deadline for Ross County Dog Licenses Extended


Ross County Auditor Thomas M. Spetnagel Jr. has announced that the deadline for purchasing 2019 dog licenses without a penalty has been extended from January 31st to February 15th by the Ross County Board of Commissioners.


Beginning February 16th, state law requires that a $10.00 penalty be assessed in addition to the regular $10.00 registration fee for each dog license issued and a $50.00 penalty be added to the regular $50.00 registration fee for each kennel license issued.


Dog licenses will be available at the following locations through February 15th:

-Corner Market on Charleston Pike

-Pettit’s #4 in Clarksburg

-Edwards Hardware & Supply in Kingston,

-Kingston Valero

-Huntsmen Market on Blain Highway

-Railway Express in Pleasant Valley

-Garman Feed & Supply in South Salem

-Bridge St. Valero in Chillicothe

-Western Ave. Valero in Chillicothe

-Scioto Farm Supply Inc. on Seney Road

-Frankfort Hardware

-Central Center Hardware

-Bourneville Valero

-Southeastern Valero

-Animal Care Clinic on Western Ave.

-Town & Country Animal Clinic

-Northfork Animal Clinic

-Riverside Valero

-Elliott’s Feed & Supply Inc. in Chillicothe & Bainbridge

Paint Valley Hardware & Supply Inc.


Dog tags are also available year round at the County Auditor’s office, and the Dog Warden/Humane Society offices.


Licenses can also be obtained through the mail by sending a description of the dog including age, sex, color, and breed along with a check and a self addressed stamped envelope to:
