Home & Garden Show Takes Break in 2019

A popular spring-time event in Chillicothe is taking this year off.

The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Southern Ohio Home and Garden Show will take a hiatus during 2019. The show, traditionally held in April at the Ross County Fairgrounds, is not being permanently canceled, but the Chamber, as the organizers of the event, want to take a year off to explore a new heated venue for the show, as well as other possible changes.

“The break is necessary for our staff to serve best our vendors and those who attend,” said Mike Throne, president, and CEO of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce. “With the early April date and the inconsistency of weather during that time on the calendar, we’re trying to find the best possible option to allow our vendors to connect with prospective customers.”

The show traditionally features more than 60 vendors, two days of do-it-yourself presentations, a children’s area, and a local marketplace that features crafters, farmers, gardeners, plants, and cash and carry items, in addition to food.

The Chamber and its Home and Garden subcommittee, which guides the planning of the event, will continue to meet and discuss the changes, then provide more details when they become available.

Those with questions as well as anyone who would like to give input on future shows are encouraged to contact Bobbi Kellough at bkellough@chillicotheohio.com.
