USPS Raises Prices for Stamps and Priority Mail

The next time you need to buy stamps, expect to shell out a little more.  Starting today, the U.S. Postal Service is raising prices on stamps and services.

A first-class one-ounce mailed letter will go up to 55 cents. That nickel increase is the largest percentage hike since 1991. Forever stamps are also jumping to 55 cents and priority mail prices are jumping nearly six-percent.

The postal service lost nearly four billion dollars last year due to lower mail volume and pension and healthcare costs.
