SVC Girls Basketball Champ Unioto ran their record to (21-2) with a 56-34 Division 2 Sectional Championship win over Logan Elm Thursday at Adena High School. The win creates a rematch between Unioto and Sheridan, who played in the district volleyball championship last fall.

The Lady Shermans will be looking to even the score with the Lady Generals, after falling in the volleyball title match. Sheridan is also a two loss team on the season and is loaded with talent, according to Unioto Coach Jeff Miller.

In their win over Logan Elm, the Tanks used a 15-2 run late in the fist quarter to go from being down 11-7 to a lead of 22-13. That lead was 31-18 at half, 42-23 after three then the final of 56-34.

Unioto had three players in double figures with Jocie Fisher leading the way with 14 points and 8 rebounds, Amber Cottrill added 13 and Emily Coleman scored 10. Cree Stulley had an all-around great game of 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

Logan Elm was led by Abby Hatter's 15 points and Riley Schultz scored 10. Megan Diehl pitched-in 5 points.
Unioto shot a cool 16/44 from the field for 36%- including 6/19 from the arc and added 8/12 from the foul line. Logan Elm went 10/33 for only 30%- including 4/14 from the arc. They also went 10/14 from the line.

Unioto dominated the glass with a rebound edge of 31-11. Unioto committed 9 turnovers while forcing 13 from the Lady Braves.

Unioto faces Sheridan in the district semis at Southeastern High School at 8pm, February 20th. 94 Country WKKJ will broadcast with airtime at 7:45pm.
