Former Ross Commissioner Honored With Statehood Day Award

The Chillicothe Kiwanis Club would like to announce the recipient of the 2019 Statehood Day Achievement Award. This year the Kiwanis Achievement Award will be bestowed upon James Caldwell during the Club’s annual Ohio Statehood Day Prayer Breakfast on March 2, 2019 at the Trinity United Methodist Church.

This award is given to a person who best represents the “Spirit of Ohio” and who have made a difference in the lives of Ross County residents.

Caldwell was selected as the recipient of this year’s award based on his extensive service to the community as a Ross County Commissioner serving for forty-years. He has also served in various positions on boards including President of the Ross County Board of Commissioners, trustee of the University of Rio Grande, original trustee in the establishment of the Chillicothe Education Foundation and the CHS Alumni Association, Board of Standards of the International Foundation for Retirement Education, trustee for the David Meade Massie Trust, founding member of the board of the Economic Development Alliance of Southern Ohio, along as the Director of the Vinton County National Bank.

The Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and the Ross County Ministerial Association will present the 53rd Ohio Statehood Prayer Breakfast. Tickets can be obtained through a Kiwanis Member or at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau located at 230 N. Plaza Blvd.
