With Spring officially in full swing, the City of Chillicothe is announcing the return of its Renick Avenue Yard Waste Disposal Site.
-
City residents had been using the site on Consumer Center Drive but that site will be closing this Saturday, March 30th. Chillicothe Safety Service Director, Jeff Carman says residents will then need to use the Renick site, which is set to open on Wednesday, April 3rd. Carmen says the Renick site will then be open each Wednesday and Saturday of the week from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Renick site has experienced problems in the past with illegal dumping and residents bringing items to the site that are disallowed. He's encouraging users of the Renick disposal site to obey the rules to prevent the site from being shut down.
-
Carman says the Renick Avenue site is only open to city residents, and only yard waste such as grass, brush, tree limbs, and other similar materials are allowed. Dumping of items such as old furniture, appliances and trash are strictly prohibited. The site is also off limits to commercial contractors. The city asks that users of the site report any violations to city police.

Carmen reminds citizens that the city also offers curb-side yard waste collection, which can be scheduled by calling the Chillicothe Service Department.
