A resurfacing project on U.S. Route 35 in Ross County has begun, with lane restrictions going into effect this week.
-
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation have begun preliminary site work to install signs and make pavement repairs in preparation for a resurfacing project that will extend from the County Road 550 interchange to just east of the S.R. 159 interchange, and from the U.S. 23 split (end of the U.S. 35/23 overlap) to the U.S. 50 interchange.
-
The Shelly Company was awarded a contract in the fall of 2018 to undertake the project, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction. All work is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer of this year.
-
In a separate project, crews from BCC Ohio, Inc. will be rehabilitating culverts at nine locations on routes in Adams, Brown, Highland, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties. Included in this will be two culverts located under U.S. 35, situated between the C.R. 550 and Pleasant Valley interchanges.
-
Crews will be working off the roadway to pave the bottom of the culverts with concrete, and there should be little to no impact to traffic during construction.
-
While the entire project is scheduled to be completed in late summer, work at these locations on U.S. 35 should be completed by late April.
