National Drug Take Back Day takes place this Saturday. The program is a responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. You just empty the contents of prescription pill bottles into a clear plastic bag and take the bag to the nearest drop off location. No questions asked.

Prescription drop off boxes are stationed at the county sheriff's offices for Ross, Pike, Pickaway, Highland, Fayette, Vinton and Hocking counties. The boxes are for pills only. Needles, liquids and inhalers are not permitted.

In Ross County, drugs to be destroyed can be brought to the Ross Law Complex, Chillicothe Kroger Stores and the parking lot of Kenworth Truck Company Plant. In Pickaway County, go to the Circleville Police station or Circleville Walmart parking lot.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office has a perscription pill drop off located in the lobby of the office, that's on Homestead Ave. in Hillsboro. It's for pills only. No needles, liquids or inhalers are permitted.
There's also a drop off box located at the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, just inside the entrance, on East Market. The same rules apply.
