Applications Now Open for Adena's Summer Nursing Camp

Area high school students interested in pursing a career in nursing have an opportunity to gain valuable skills and information through an upcoming summer nursing camp.

Adena Regional Medical Center, in collaboration with the United Way, will hosting its second annual nursing-focused summer camp during the months of June and July.

The three-day camp, held in two separate sessions, allows students to experience life as a nurse through a variety of industry-related opportunities. Students will be given a chance to shadow nurses in specialty areas such as The Adena Cancer Center, Critical Care, Emergency Services, Information Technology, Outpatient Family Medicine, Surgical Services, and Women and Children’s Services.

Students will also earn basic life support certification (CPR) and gain a better overall understanding of health care career options.

The first camp session takes place from June 10th to June 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day. The second session will then follow from July 8th to July 10th, also from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Interested high school students can apply to the camp by visiting Adena's website. Applications must be received by May 14th.
