The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred on US 35 near mile post 8 in Ross County at approximately 2:30pm Thursday, near Frankfort.

A car driven by 84-year-old Elmer Schaffer of Chillicothe, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes on U.S. 35 when the vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 69-year-old Gary Farmer of Loveland, that was traveling west.

Schaffer, was transported to Grant Medical Center via MedFlight with critical injuries. Farmer was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center via Union Township EMS for minor injuries.
