Feast of the Flowering Moon Announces 'Pie in the Face' Charity Contest

The Feast of the Flowering Moon is holding a new contest this year to raise money for area non-profit organizations. The contest will be a “Pie in the Face” event featuring five local celebrities in government and law enforcement.

Contestants for the inaugural contest are:

Doug Corcoran - Ross County Commissioner. Commissioner Corcoran will be participating to raise funds for St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Peter Parish.

George Lavender - Ross County Sheriff. Sheriff Lavender will be participating to raise funds for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of South-Central Ohio.

Jeff Marks - Ross County Prosecutor. (No photo immediately available) Mr. Marks will be raising funds for Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

Matt Schmidt - Ross County Common Pleas Judge. Judge Schmidt will be raising money for the Ross County Humane Society

Keith Washburn - Chillicothe Chief of Police. Chief Washburn will be playing for Southern Ohio Survivors

The top two celebrities that raise the most money for a charity of their choice, will face off in a coin toss to determine who will receive the final pie in the face. The bottom three contestants are guaranteed to receive a whipped cream pie in the face.

The contest will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. during the festival. The scoreboard will be available online until Saturday, May 25th for an element of surprise when the results are revealed on Sunday.

Emceeing the event will be local comedian, Lori Graves.

Donations can be made securely through PayPal on the festival’s website at www.feastofthefloweringmoon.org and navigating to the “Pie in the Face” contest under the “Contest” drop-down menu.

Individual donations can be given to the contestants with checks made payable to Feast of the Flowering Moon and either the contestant’s name or charity name on the memo line.

All funds raised during this event will be distributed to the charity selected by the contestant after the conclusion of the festival.
