A Waverly man was killed after the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed after the plane swooped low over a track meet being held at Southeastern High School, east of Chillicothe, Saturday afternoon.

Eye witnesses who were at the track meet, told iHeart Media Newsthey saw the single engine plane fly over the campus, then crash into a wooded area beyond the track stadium and near a baseball field. There was no explosion reported when the plane crashed into the wooded area.

The pilot killed was 90-year-old Glenn Galloway of Waverly.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the scene, along with area squad members and the Ross County Coroner.

The investigation is being conducted by the Ohio State Highwaty Patrol, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration.
