The two remaining SVC baseball teams ended their successful tournament runs Thursday with losses in the Regional Semis. Westfall lost to Minford 7-2 in Division 3, while Huntington suffered an 8-0 set-back to Toronto.

MINFORD 7, WESTFALL 2
SVC Champ Westfall led 1-0 for the first four innings of their Division 3 Regional Semi at V.A. Memorial Stadium, before Minford came to life with three runs in the fifth inning and four more runs in the sixth for their 7-2 win over the Mustangs. Titan Williams led off the game for the Mustangs with a walk and later scored on an RBI single by Sam Frazier.

Westfall starter Lucas Blackburn kept Minford scoreless through four innings on one hit, but the Falcons came to life with two outs in the fifth inning, scoring three times to take a 3-1 lead.

The four run sixth inning was the back-breaker, with the Falcons doing the damage on three hits in the inning, but helped by two Westfall fielding errors.

Westfall added a single run in the seventh inning when Jayden Hammond singled and later scored on an RBI single from Titan Williams.

Minford's Ethan Lauder got the win, with Westfall's Lucas Blackburn suffering the pitching defeat.

Minford scored 7 runs/ 9 hits/ 2 errors, while Westfall had 2 runs/ 6 hits/ 2 errors.

Minford improves to (29-1) and advances to the Regional Final vs West Lafayette Ridgewood after their 3-0 win over West Jefferson. Their final will be 5pm Friday at Ohio Dominican University.

Westfall concludes their season as SVC, Sectional and District Champs and a record of (23-5).

TORONTO 8, HUNTINGTON 0
The clock struck midnight for the tournament's "Cinderella Team" as the (13-15) Huntington Huntsmen fell to the (25-5) Red Knights of Toronto.

Toronto scored twice in the first, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to cruise to their win.

Huntington, like Toronto stranded 8 base runners in the game, but the Red Knights cashed in on more of their scoring opportunities for the win.

Toronto starter A.J. Clegg got the win, with Huntington's Elijah McCloskey taking the loss.

(25-5) Toronto scored 8 runs/ 9 hits/ 0 errors while (13-15) Huntington had 0 runs/ 4 hits/ 5 errors.

The Huntsmen turned a sub .500 regular season into a history making post-season, becoming the first Huntington HS Boys Team to win a district title in any sport.

Toronto now faces (22-9) Newark Catholic at 5pm Friday for the D-4 Regional Final at Lancaster's Beavers Field.
