Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 9 office will be performing milling and paving work to the on and off ramps at three of the interchanges along U.S. 35 in Chillicothe in the near future.
-
The interchange ramps set for milling and paving are located at Pleasant Valley, State Route 104, and North Bridge Street.
-
ODOT District 9 Public Information Officer Kathleen Fuller says signs with dates for the work have been posted along the route but, the work keeps getting pushed back due to a project underway in Highland County that was delayed by recent rains.
-
Fuller says the dates for the ramp closures are in the process of being worked out, but she says once the work does start, it will be conducted during evening and overnight hours from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night.
-
The ramp closures will be done one at a time. While work is carried out at one intersection, the other two will remain open to still allow motorists access to U.S. 35.
-
"They're going to close the interchange ramps at Bridge, 104 and Pleasant Valley/Egypt Pike," said Fuller. "They won't close all the ramps at one time, they're going to alternate them, so there will be access to 35 in opposing directions."
-
The projects will also take place consecutively instead of piecemeal. Fuller says milling will be done at one intersection and paving will then immediately follow, rather than crews performing all of the milling at the intersections, and then returning on a later date to conduct the paving.
-
Fuller says ODOT will issue a release once the exact dates for the work are established.
