A portion of West 5th Street in Chillicothe will be closed on Tuesday, July 2nd for water line work.

Utilities Director, David Fishel says West 5th will close at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday between the Hidden Point and Brennan Road. The closure is expected to be lifted around noon, weather permitting.

The work will also force a temporary water outage on West 5th for residences from University Drive to Hidden Point. This includes Ohio University Chillicothe. There could also be a possible water outage on University Drive from Western Avenue to West 5th Street.

Once the work is completed, a cautionary boil advisory will then take effect for West 5th Street, from University Drive to Hidden Point, including OU-Chillicothe, through Thursday, July 4th.
