Circleville Post 134 Concludes State Legion Baseball Tournament in Top 3

The defending Ohio champs for American Legion Baseball will not repeat their title this summer after falling from the tournament Saturday. The Circleville Post 134 Panthers saw their title hopes vanish as Sydney avenged a 3-0 loss to Circleville earlier this week, with a 2-1 decision to end the Panthers' season.

.

The Panthers won their first two games in impressive fashion at the Ohio tournament in Lancaster, beating Sydney 3-0 on Wednesday then 7-2 over Beverly on Thursday.

.

Wayne County handed Circleville their first loss in the winner bracket final on Friday, 3-2. Then in Saturday's loser bracket, the Panthers dropped the 2-1 game to Sydney.

.

Last year, Circleville won the state title en route to the Great Lakes Regional, making their deepest run in Region 5 history, among local teams.

.

This season's Ohio Region 5 title was Circleville's seventh since 2011.
