Man Injured in Circleville Storm

(24/7 News) -- A man is recovering from traumatic injuries suffered last night when a tree fell on his car during a storm.

Police say it happened just after 7pm on Northridge Road near Nichols Road in Circleville. The driver of the car was transported by helicopter to a Columbus hospital with severe injuries. It took crews about an hour to clear the road of debris.

Strong storms are also being blamed for damage in Darke County. Crews worked until early Friday morning to remove a grain silo from railroad tracks near Ansonia after the storms passed.

High winds and heavy rain are blamed for several downed trees and power lines across central Ohio and the Miami Valley, but no injuries were reported.
