Goodwill Industries Adding Western Avenue Store

.

Goodwill Industries of South Central Ohio will be opening a second store in Chillicothe, adding 10 new jobs and growing its ability to service those with developmental disabilities and disadvantages. The new 10,000 square-foot store will be built on Western Avenue just west of Knisley Pharmacy and WesBanco.

.

“We are excited to open a store and donation center to serve an ever-growing area of our community. This will make it much more convenient for both shoppers and donors in that area as well as all of western Ross County,” said Goodwill CEO Marvin Jones. “This will complement our current location in Shawnee Square off North Bridge Street.”

.

The new store is being designed and built with Goodwill’s unique needs in mind by Developer Andy Graham and his Brenmar Construction Company out of Jackson who built the highly successful Goodwill stores opened last year in Athens and Jackson. The design will feature a covered donation center drive-thru with 7,000 square-feet devoted to the retail floor and 3,000 square-feet for processing donations.

.

A new city street will be built to provide access off Western Avenue in addition to a service road off Stoneridge Drive. The timeline for the new store is still in the works, but Jones is hopeful the new store will open by the end of March. Goodwill will lease the new space from A&T Property LLC.
