Second Teays Valley Student Dies From Injuries in Wrong-Way Crash

(24/7 News) -- Officials say the second teenager involved a fatal wrong-way crash the previous weekend, has died.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed yesterday that 17-year-old Vladyslav Gaidai, who was a foreign exchange student from the Ukraine, was removed from life support yesterday at Grant Hospital. Gaidai was the passenger in a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Joshua Fyffe when they were hit head-on by a wrong-way driver on U.S. 23 north of Circleville last weekend. Fyffe was killed in the accident, and the driver of the wrong-way driver died at the hospital.

Sergeant Roger Cooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says investigators believe a medical condition may have played a role in the wrong way crash, leading 56-year-old Carol Fowler of Pickerington to get into the wrong lane. She also died in the crash.
