-
According to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office, Trinity L. Hill, age 18; Alexis D. Sumlin, age 28; Larry J. White, age 28; and Ambrasia M. Anderson, age 27, have each been indicted on a single fifth-degree felony count of theft.
-
The original incident took place on July 27th of this year when officers with the Chillicothe Police Department were called to Wal-Mart in reference to a theft. On arrival at the store, officers detained the four defendants and were informed by Loss Prevention personnel that all four individuals had attempted to remove merchandise from the store without paying.
-
Authorities say the defendants were able to get one cart, loaded with approximately $1,400 in merchandise past all points-of-sale and out of the store by distracting the Greeter. Another cart, filled with around $1,700 in merchandise, was left inside the store. The fifth-degree charge of theft results from the group having only been able to get one of the carts outside of the store.

In another case from Friday's Ross County Grand Jury session, a Chillicothe man was indicted on a single fifth-degree felony count of escape.
-
This case stems from an incident that took place on July 13th when Chillicothe Police Officers were called to a residence at 268 South Hickory Street in reference to a reported disturbance. On arrival to the scene, the officers made contact with several individuals inside of a garage on the property. One of the individuals, Jeremiah J. Beatty, age 28,of Diehl Street, Chillicothe, claimed to the officers that he suffered from seizures and was in need of medical attention.
-
A background check of Mr. Beatty revealed he was wanted on multiple warrants, including one for a charge of theft. The officers requested an ambulance, but informed Mr. Beatty, that he would be taken into custody on the warrants following his hospital discharge.
-
Shortly after departing the scene in an ambulance, the officers allege to have witnessed Mr. Beatty exit the vehicle and flee the area on foot. He was quickly apprehended and driven to a local hospital by a police officer. He was then apprehended on the warrants following his discharge.
