Ross County Park District Seeks Levy Approval from Voters

After a narrow defeat in their last appearance on the ballot, the Ross County Park District is coming back to voters for a property tax increase, this November.

.

The district is seeking a 1/2 mil levy that would cost the owner of a $100,000 home approximately $17.50 per year.

.

Park officials say they monies are needed for maintenance, keeping up with education demands in their naturalist areas, and give them more local funding to apply for additional parks/recreation grants, which most often require local matching funds.

.

Officials say additional funding would also allow them to make grants to townships, villages and the city to help with their parks needs.
