Southeastern Stays Unbeaten in Offensive Show at Piketon

The Southeastern Panthers ran their record to (3-0/6-0) with a 54-34 win at Piketon, Friday.

The Redstreaks got off to a quick start, taking advantage of two Panthers turnovers on their first two possessions to lift Piketon to a 13-0 lead. Southeastern would then score 20 unanswered points for a 20-13 halftime lead, then blow things open in the second half.

A big momentum killer for Piketon came in the closing 30 seconds of the first half, when the Redstreaks had first and goal from the SE 7 yard line, but saw Lane Ruby intercept a pass in the end-zone to halt what could have been a game tying TD drive.

Despite the loss, Piketon showed for the second week in a row, that they can score points. The Redstreaks had 409 total yards, with sophomore quarterback Levi Gullion throwing 20/33 for 266 yards. The Streaks rushed for another 149 yards with Austin Henderson accounting for 85.

The Panthers mustered 391 total yards, with 383 on the ground. Lane Ruby ran for 191 yards and scored three TD's, including an 81 yard kick-off return. Mikey Nusser added 149 yards on the ground.

Southeastern committed three turnovers and Piketon had 2.

Piketon falls to (0-3/1-5) on the season.
