Beaver, Ohio Woman Dies in Crash with Semi

A Pike County woman was killed Wednesday night when her vehicle crashed with a semi truck.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the semi-tractor trailer was eastbound on U.S. Route 35 in Jackson County when a car pulled from the stop sign on Dixon Run Road out into the path of the semi and was struck in the driver’s side. Both vehicles went off the left side of the roadway coming to rest in the grass median.

The driver of the Ford Focus was 21-year-old Krista Denham of Beaver, Ohio. Ms. Denham sustained serious injuries in the crash and was extricated from the vehicle and was immediately taken from the scene to Holzer Medical Center in Jackson where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the commercial truck was 38-year-old James Scotch of Texas. Mr. Scotch was uninjured in the crash and was checked by medical personnel on-scene.

The eastbound lanes of U.S Route were closed for about three hours while the scene was processed by troopers. Traffic was routed around the scene via Dixon Run Road and State Route 327.
