Hilliard Man Stuck by Postal Vehicle Along U.S. 50 in Ross County

A Hilliard man is recovering in a Chillicothe hospital after being struck by vehicle along U.S. 50 in southeastern RossCounty.

According to the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, pedestrian, Jared Hoover, 21, of Hilliard, was attempting to cross US 50, near US 35 in Liberty Township shortly before noon Wednesday, when he was struck by an eastbound U.S. Postal Service vehicle, operated by Ryan Paugh, 31, of Portsmouth.

Mr. Hoover suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported from the scene by Liberty Township EMS and taken to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment. He faces a citation for improperly walking in the roadway.

Mr. Paugh was uninjured in the accident and was released at the scene.
