The U.S. Department of Energy Portsmouth site will be hosting a series of four community open houses this month to discuss the process of waste disposal from the upcoming demolition of the former gaseous diffusion plant.

The first takes place this week in Jackson on Thursday, November 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at LaRosa’s Pizza.

The second will take place this Friday, November 8th in Portsmouth. That one runs from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Scioto County Welcome Center.

The third open house is scheduled to take place in Waverly next week. It’ll be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pike County YMCA.

The fourth and final open house will then take place on Friday, November 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Christopher Conference Center in Chillicothe.
