Chillicothe’s annual Holiday Lights Competition is now underway. That annual contest, sponsored by the Chillicothe Parks & Recreation Department, runs through 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th.
City residents looking to enter their home’s light display in the contest can do so by calling the Chillicothe Parks Department at 740-772-5626, or by sending an email to lights@chillicotheoh.gov
There are again two categories for this year’s contest: The Clark Griswold category which seeks excessive use of outdoor lighting and decorations, and the Norman Rockwell category for more traditional and nostalgic displays.
Those entering by email will want to include their name, address, phone number or email, and their preferred contest category. Entries will be accepted through Tuesday, December 4th with judging set to take place on Wednesday, December 5th.
First place this year brings a free shelter house rental & eight day-passes to the Chillicothe swimming pool. Second place will be awarded a free shelter house rental. Third place will receive four day-passes to the Chillicothe swimming pool.
The winning homes will be featured on this year’s Holiday Lights Bus Tour, offered by the Chillicothe Transit System.
