Hamilton County Murder Suspect Arrested in Chillicothe

A Columbus man wanted for two counts of murder out of Hamilton County has been arrested in Chillicothe.

The Chillicothe Police Department received information Sunday afternoon from the U.S. Marshall tip line that 30-year-old Vandell Slade of Columbus was in the city of Chillicothe. Acting on those tips, Chillicothe Police along with Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Ross County Sheriff's deputies followed up on tip locations where Slade may have been- with no results.

On Monday morning at approximately 12:35am, U.S. Marshalls and Chillicothe Police received information that Slade was in a house in the 600 block of Pine Street. Personnel from the U.S. Marshall Office and Chillicothe Police were able to confirm Slade was in a particular house, where Slade was located in the attic of the house, and taken into custody without incident.

Slade is being held in the Ross County Jail on warrants issued from Hamilton County, where he is charged with two counts of murder and felonious assault.
