.
The overall 69,000-square foot project puts an emphasis on improving efficiency and expanding capacity for the hospital’s Emergency Department and creating a more welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and visitors in the facility’s west entrance.
The project highlights include: $36-million in multi-phase renovations, the addition of three times more clinical space in the new 44,000-square-foot emergency department addition, an added helipad, a centralized registration area, a dine-in café , a new front entrance and separate entry drives for both visitors and emergency responders.
.
The third and final phase of the renovations will get underway this fall and will cover an approximate 14,000 square feet. The last renovation was completed in 1986, and Adena’s emergency department has experienced significant growth since that time.
