Ross County authorities are investigating a shooting that took place late Monday morning along Chillicothe’s South Bridge Street.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified female victim had been driving along South Bridge/SR 104, just south of Cooks Hill Road around 10:40 a.m. when she suffered a single gunshot wound while inside her vehicle.
The shot fired is reported to have come from a passing vehicle. Sheriff George Lavender reports the suspect to be a younger black male driving a dark-colored 4-door compact.
The Sheriff's Office uploaded the picture below, believed to be the suspect vehicle to social media, Monday afternoon. It is the vehicle closest to the camera.
