Chillicothe Parks and Recreation have announced the winners of this year’s city-wide Holiday Lights Competition. The annual contest selects winners in two categories: The Clark Griswold category for excessive use of outdoor lighting, and The Norman Rockwell category for more traditional displays.
The winners of this year’s Clark Griswold category are:
1st - Jason Adkins of 341 Clay Street
2nd - Charles Kennedy of 747 Jefferson Avenue
3rd - Justin and Randy Dunham of 137 Sharon Road
4th - Max Adair of 592 Buckeye Street
The winners of this year’s Norman Rockwell category are:
1st - John and Carol Welch of 132 Yaples Orchard Drive
2nd - Curtis Smith of 891 Madison Avenue
3rd - Randy Kelley of 694 Orange Street
4th - John and Kathy Zangri of 330 Piatt Avenue
The winner’s displays are featured on the Chillicothe Transit System’s Holiday Lights Bus Tours, which are underway this week. There are two tours per evening with pick-ups at 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. in the parking lot located next to Cristy’s Pizza on East Water Street. The final round of tours will take place this Friday, December 13th.
The top three winners in each category are also awarded a small prize package. First place comes with a free park shelter house rental and eight day-passes to the Chillicothe Swimming Pool. Second Place is awarded a free shelter house rental. Third place brings four day-passes to the pool.
