ODOT Seeks Public Comment on Highland County Route 41 Culvert Replacement

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking public input on a proposed culvert replacement along State Route 41 in Highland County.

ODOT District 9’s Environmental Office wants to hear concerns from the public in regard to a proposal to replace the structure on State Route 41 at the .40 mile-marker. The project would be located in a rural area of Brush Creek Township. The existing structure was constructed in 1970.

There would be no need for a new right-of-way for the project, nor would any homes or businesses be impacted.

The project would require the affected portion of State Route 41 to be reduced to a minimum of one lane of two-way traffic and would be maintained with use of a temporary traffic signal.

Federal funds would cover 80-percent of the project with the other 20-percent coming from State funds. The project is still a ways off with contracts expected to be awarded in January of 2021. ODOT however would like the public comments in by the end of December. The deadline is Monday, December 30th.

Written comments should be submitted to:

Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor

P.O. Box 467, 650 Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
