Three People Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Pickaway County Traffic Stop

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Robert B. Radcliff, December 31st, 2019, at 7:04pm, Corporal Harger and his K9 partner Joris, stopped a vehicle on US 23 near the Cooks Creek Golf Course, for a speeding violation and failing to display an Ohio registration on the front of the vehicle.

Corporal Harger made contact with the male driver, identified later as Bradford P. Wedebrook of Portsmouth and the 2 passengers, Lona M. Simpson of Pomeroy and Paul Stone Jr. of Portsmouth. Mr. Wedebrook was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest through Franklin County. Corporal Harger secured Mr. Wedebrook in his cruiser for the warrant. Corporal Harger had Ms. Simpson and Mr. Stone exit the vehicle. Lieutenant Hempstead and Officer Miller from the South Bloomfield Police Department arrived to assist Corporal Harger.

Corporal Harger deployed his K9 partner Joris for a free air sniff around the vehicle, where Joris alerted and indicated to the odor of narcotic’s coming from the vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle, Corporal Harger and Officer Miller located a loaded 22 caliber revolver, and over 6 ounces, nearly half a pound, of Methamphetamine. Both Mr. Wedebrook and Mr. Stone were also found to have additional narcotics on their person, once inside the Pickaway County Jail.

Mr. Wedebrook, is charged with, Aggravated Trafficking, (F-1), Possession of Schedule I (F-1), Having Weapons While Under Disability (F-3), and Illegal Conveyance onto the Grounds of a Governmental Facility, (F-3).

Mr. Stone is charged with, Aggravated Trafficking (F-1), Possession of Schedule I (F-1), and Illegal Conveyance onto the Grounds of a Government Facility, (F-3).

Ms. Simpson is charged with, Aggravated Trafficking, (F-1), Possession of Schedule I (F-1), Having Weapons While Under Disability, (F-3)

All three were later transported to the Pickaway County Jail and will have their initial appearance in Circleville Municipal Court January 2nd, 2020.
