The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian, in Ross County.

At approximately 10:16pm Wednesday, 61-year-old William Ambos of Piketon, was walking in the right lane of State Route 104 south between the Chillicothe VA Medical Center and Ross Correctional Institution.

A vehicle driven by 52-year-old Robert C. Lurty of Chillicothe was going south and struck Ambos.

Mr. Ambos was pronounced deceased at the scene by an investigator with the Ross County Coroner’s Office. Mr. Lurty was not injured.
