The third period saw Zane Trace build a 32-25 advantage, before Adena went on a 5-0 run to make it 32-30. That momentum was short-lived, with the Pioneers closing the third quarter strong for a 40-30 lead, heading into the final period.

After closing the ZT lead to 42-39, the Pioneers darted into what at the time seemed like a comfortable lead of 49-41. That's when the Warriors caught fire again from the three-point arc to pull to within 49-48 with 13.6 seconds remaining. Adena had to foul when their press couldn't get the ball, sending Colby Swain to the line- where he connected on both free throws for a 51-48 lead. Adena's Logan Bennett had one last three-ball try from the left wing with a ZT defender guarding him tightly, causing the shot to fall off the mark to end the game.
.
Zane Trace was led by Nick Nesser's 17 points and 8 rebounds, Cameron Evans followed with 15 points and 7 rebounds, Luke Johnson with 9 points, Triton Davidson 6 points and Colby Swain with 4 points.
