The 54th annual Ohio Statehood Day Prayer Celebration will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 7th, at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Kiwanis Achievement Award will be bestowed upon Stan Mitchell for extensive service in the education field. He devoted 30 years in elementary and jr. high education where he served 19 years as a principal, with an additional 13 years as the Director of the Ross County G.E.D. program for a total of 43 years of service in education. Mitchell also served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, as well as Secretary for the Friends for the Preservation of Ohio State Parks.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau, Stacy Brooks, Diane Carnes, or a Kiwanis member.
