Chillicothe/Ross Library Seeks Levy Renewal

Chillicothe/Ross Public Library is coming to the voters this spring for a levy renewal. The levy originated in 2010 and was renewed in 2015, now is due to expire this year, without voter approval to renew.

.

Library Director James Hill says they have created 162 partnerships that get their services to the community, along with the essential operation where funds pay for things like books, videos, personnel and supplies.

.

The renewal levy is for 1.5 mills and does not represent any kind of tax increase. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $4.50 per month on the current levy. Hill says every dollar spent on library services in Ross County returns about $3 to the local economy.

.

The local levy appears on the March 17th primary ballot.
