The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a utility worker that occurred on State Route 28 near mile post 17 in Ross County, Thursday morning.
A 2017 Hyundai Tuscon, driven by Tiffany Simons, 36, of Chillicothe, was traveling east on State Route 28 when she struck utility worker, Kyle Rinehart, 31, of Mansfield, who was standing in the roadway directing traffic. The road was limited to one lane due to work on electric lines near the intersection of Coral Lane.
Mr. Rinehart was transported to Adena Medical Center by Chillicothe EMS where he later succumbed to his injuries. Ms. Simons was not injured and was released from the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
