Greenfield Student Coronavirus Test Returned Negative

The test results for a Greenfield student who underwent testing for COVID-19 have been returned negative. The Highland County Health Department sent the following release early Friday afternoon:

The Highland County Health Department has received the lab testing results from a Greenfield student who was being tested for COVID-19 Coronavirus. The results of the test were negative. All students, staff, and other close contacts are being contacted by phone and are being released from quarantine.

The Highland County Health Department would like to thank the community for its patience during this process. Over 200 people were contacted during this effort, and the community has been overwhelmingly kind, understanding, and supportive.

While this test was negative, we will see positive test results at some time in the future. As a community, we need to use this time to prepare, plan ahead, and support each other. As individuals we should be working to wash our hands, stay home if sick, and following social distancing rules as we prepare for Highland County’s local Coronavirus response.

See the Highland County Health Department’s Facebook page for regular updates on our ongoing COVID-19 response efforts. Please contact the Highland County Health Department with any questions.
