24/7 News Source -- On Friday, state officials confirmed Ohio's first death confirmed to be related to the coronavirus outbreak. Officials said Mark Wagoner, 76, an attorney from Toledo, was the victim. As of Friday, there were 169 confirmed cases across 28 different Ohio counties.
Governor Mike DeWine is issuing an executive order to close all of the state's older adult daycare and senior centers. The order will go into effect at the close of business on Monday. DeWine said he's making the move to keep those most at risk from COVID-19 from congregating. He said any senior citizen who relied on such programs for food will have their meals delivered to them.
DeWine also had harsh words for Ohio businesses that aren't obeying safety guidelines. He said owners who aren't practicing social distancing are putting their customers and their employees at risk. The governor said the "reckless behavior" must stop, but DeWine did not issue a stay-at-home order like the governors of New York and California.
