The Board of Directors of the Feast of the Flowering Moon has decided to cancel the festival for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of the community, patrons, vendors and volunteers are most important to the Board. With the uncertainty of the pandemic’s effects into the summer, the Board decided not to seek a postponement of the event for this year.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the event,” stated Gene Betts, Board President for the organization. “After discussing the uncertainty of the pandemic, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to protect the health and safety of our community.”
This marks the first time in the festival’s 37 years of operations that it will not entertain the community over the Memorial Day weekend. The Board will be working with its vendors, community partners, and special attractions to ensure that the festival will be positioned to welcome
