Cattlemen Group Says "No Beef Shortage in Ohio"

Advocates for the cattle industry are reiterating that there is no beef shortage due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Elizabeth Hash, with the Ohio Cattlemen's Association, says beef was part of the panic buying that came with the onset of the pandemic, and the orders to stay home that went into effect in Ohio just over a month ago.

Hash says the only issue is with the supply chain, and getting the products to the shelves before they are bare again. She says there were also significant changes on the food-service side.

Hash adds that the demand for live cattle surged initially, with prices going up, but has suppressed again.
