Two Injured, One Seriously, in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Ross County

The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three car injury crash, that occurred on US 50 near mile post 32, in Ross County on Monday, April 27th at approximately 08:15 A.M.

A 2008 Ford Edge, driven by Clarissa Steele, 18, of Chillicothe Ohio, was traveling west on US 50 when it traveled left of center, striking a 2005 Ford F-150, driven by Jesse Graves, 37, Chillicothe, Ohio. The 2005 F-150 was also occupied by Jason Stewart, 41, of Chillicothe Ohio. Mr. Graves’ vehicle came to a stop after contact.

Ms. Steele’s vehicle continued traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes, when it struck a 2012 Chevrolet, FedEx, cargo van, driven by Kenneth Searles, 26, of Chillicothe, Ohio. Ms. Steel’s vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Mr. Searles’ vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Ms. Steele was transported to the Ohio State University Medical Center, by Med-Flight, where she is being treated for serious injuries. Mr. Searles was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center by Jefferson Township EMS, with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Graves and Mr. Stewart were released from the scene with no known injuries.

The Ohio State Patrol was assisted on the scene by Jefferson Township Fire/EMS. US 50 was shut down for approximately three hours for the investigation.

The crash is currently under investigation.
