Circleville Police arrested a man threatening to set fire to a house, Monday afternoon. Police were called to a domestic dispute at 212 South Scioto Street where Ted Ramey had barricaded himself in the basement and was threatening to burn the house down with children inside.

Residents from the house were evacuated. After Ramey refused to open the basement door, officers used force to enter the basement, where Ramey was located in a crawlspace off the basement. He made multiple verbal threats, then poured gasoline out and held a lighter over the gasoline.

Eventually, Ted Ramey surrendered after a police K-9 unit was sent into the crawl space.
