Governor Threatens Veto of Bill To Limit State Health Department Order

(24/7 News) -- The Ohio House of Representatives is passing two bills, including one that will place limits on orders issued by the state's health department.

On Wednesday, the House approved Senate Bill One, which requires all Department of Health orders after April 29th, 2020 to last no longer than 14-days with extensions needing to be requested to a Joint Committee on Agency Rule. Governor Mike DeWine says he will veto the bill if it reaches his desk.

Also getting approval from the House is Senate Bill 55, which creates stricter penalties for drug offenses near rehab and treatment facilities.
