Columbus "Red, White & Boom" Cancelled For 2020

(24/7 News Source) -- The largest fireworks display in the Midwest is being canceled this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Board of the Trustees for the non-profit group that organizes the annual event "Red, White and Boom" announced it would not take place for the first time in almost 40-years.

Held every year on July 3rd, the fireworks routinely attract crowds of nearly 400-thousand people to the banks of the Scioto River in downtown Columbus.

Trustees say the event will return in 2021.
